LSU ends Alabama softball’s season again at WCWS

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (WIAT) — The Alabama Crimson Tide softball team was knocked out of the 2015 Women’s College World Series by LSU. Saturday, it was deja vu all over again for the Tide as the Tigers sent Alabama home with a 6-4 victory to advance to Sunday.

Alabama was down 6-1 to LSU in the 4th, but a rally involving a Leona Lafaele home run saw the Tide scratch three runs in the 6th to make it 6-4, but they would leave the bases loaded in the inning.

In the 7th, Alabama managed to bring the tying run to the plate after a Marisa Runyon single, but the game would end after LSU turned a double play.

Alabama finished 0-2 at the WCWS for the first time since 2006. Their final record for the 2016 season 51-14, the 12th season in school history with at least 50 wins.
