BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Monday is a big day for bike riders across the city, as the first bike-sharing program in Birmingham launches next month.
Monday REV Birmingham will officially open the first memberships to the public.
Zyp Bikeshare Sales and Marketing Coordinator Michael Symes joined Wake Up Alabama Monday morning to talk about the launch.
More than 400 bikes and 40 kiosks will be deployed across Birmingham’s city center for visitors, residents, employees and beyond to ‘zyp’ around on.
Monday at noon, Rev Birmingham will officially open the first 200 Zyp Bikeshare memberships to the public. The first 200 people to register will join an esteemed pool of founding cyclists called “Shyfters,” and they’ll be privy to a host of exclusive membership perks.
The memberships are available on a first come, first served basis, and this is the only time the Shyfter campaign will be offered.
