On September 15, 1963 began as just another day in the height of the civil rights movement. In Birmingham, though, what seemed like a normal day took a tragic turn when a dynamite blast at the 16th Street Baptist Church took the lives of Addie Mae Collins, Carole Robertson, Denise McNair and Cynthia Wesley.

The half-hour documentary is both a tribute to the four girls martyred in the 1963 bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church but also a behind-the-scenes story of the efforts to remedy the lack of an official monument to the girls.
