Upcoming blood drive opportunities in Central Alabama

Local News

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — If you’re looking for a chance to give back to your community, blood donation is a great way to give to those in need in a more unconventional way than donating money or old clothing.

As school starts back, The American Red Cross is hosting blood drives across Alabama in order to combat the shortage the organization is currently facing. They’re even giving students the opportunity to win scholarship money just for hosting a blood drive at their school.

Tiffany Taylor from the American Red Cross joined Wake Up Alabama to share why blood donations are so vital this time of year.8/21/15
