University of Alabama dean of students steps down after old tweets resurface in article

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — The University of Alabama has released the following statement about Riley’s resignation:

Dr. Jamie Riley has resigned his position at The University of Alabama by mutual agreement.  Neither party will have any further comments.

According to UA’s Crimson White, an assistant vice president and the dean of students at the University of Alabama has stepped down from his post following an article by a far-right newspaper. 

According to the paper, Dr. Jamie Riley resigned from his position yesterday after Breitbart News published an article with images of Riley’s previous tweets that criticized the American flag and made a connection between police and racism.

Riley was named to his positions at the university just last December he’s only been active in his roles there since February of this year.
