UA professor placed on leave after video shows student shotgunning beer in classroom

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — The University of Alabama has placed a professor on administrative leave after a video surfaced of a student shotgunning a beer in their classroom.

The video, posted on the Instagram page BarstoolAlabama, shows someone holding a beer in a large auditorium classroom. The student engages with the professor before shotgunning the beer. The video cuts off after that.

Professor Joel Strayer of the Marketing Department has been placed on administrative leave after it was found the incident happened in their classroom.

In a statement from UA, Strayer was placed on administrative leave while several concerns are being investigated.
