Tuscaloosa shooting suspect in custody after turning herself in

The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has a suspect in custody in a Friday shooting after she turned herself in to authorities, according to a release from Captain Gary Hood with the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit.

The sheriff’s office requested the Violent Crimes Unit to respond to a shooting on the 4400 block of Virginia Drive on Friday, according to the release. The victim, who had four gunshot wounds to their chest and abdomen, stated that she was shot by Jennifer Deloris Robinson, 36, according to the release.

The victim told authorities that Robinson came to her residence where they began arguing in her front yard. The argument eventually escalated into a physical altercation, during which Robinson allegedly pulled a handgun from her waistband and shot the victim, according to the release. 

Robinson then got into her vehicle and allegedly shot the victim more times before driving off, according to the release. The victim was hospitalized, and released from the hospital on Monday. 

Robinson has been charged with attempted murder and is currently awaiting trial on a $60,000 bond.
