UPDATE MARCH 26: Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies were still on the scene 12 hours after a 16-year-old girl was killed following a car crash on Center Point Parkway at Polly Reed Road. They were using a survey device called a Total Station to recreate the crash scene, collecting data points from evidence markers around the accident.
Anastasia Peavy owns Stacie’s Jeans and Accessories near the intersection. She said as a parent, she can’t imagine losing a child so young in such a tragic way.“I just couldn’t imagine getting a call and saying ‘Your daughter’s no longer with us. You know? That’s crazy. That’s crazy, somebody waking you up out of your sleep. That’s the most dreadful thing someone could ever tell a parent is that their 16-year-old child is dead, deceased, gone, and you’re not going to see her alive anymore,” said Peavy.
Officials have not yet released the name of the victim.
