BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Summer camp is almost in session and your child’s safety is always at the forefront.
Many Summer camps are requiring campers to provide immunization and medical history records for safety precaution of all campers.
Camp Coleman in Trussville requires medical history and immunization records from campers. If for another reason a camper is not vaccinated, they are able to provide proof of exemption, their medical history record and will have to have a medical examination by a doctor or medical practitioner at least seven days prior to the camp start date.
The camp director at Camp Fletcher, Janis Barksdale, tells CBS 42 the requirement is for the general safety of all campers.

- Camp Winnataska
- Camp Mac requires immunization records, but still accepts children who are not vaccinated.
