BIRMINGHAM, Ala (WIAT) — The Lakeview neighborhood in Birmingham is gearing up for a busy St. Patrick’s Day weekend.
Friday afternoon, bar owners and managers were taping up green decorations and getting everything ready for their customers.
The Innisfree Irish & Pub manager said all day long, they have something going on. The Innisfree owner said they do not have a set close time.
They will have kegs and eggs on Saturday morning starting at 6am, following bagpipes and other Irish traditions.
The Refinery is a new joint in Lakeview and they too are gearing up for the crows.
“I’m looking forward to the people. It’s fun. We get to see people dressed up, see a lot of kids, just a sense of community, good times and laughing and I really enjoy that. It’s fun every year and this one will be the best because it’s our first one,” said Tiffany Brown, a bartender at The Refinery.
“Lakeview is one of the best places to be in town. Everybody is in a really good mood. Everyone has great spirits and walk around. There are plenty of other businesses to go through. Food, drinks, entertainment, things like that,” said Jason Paine, manager of Innisfree Irish & Pub.
Those working in Lakeview recommend visitors to take an Uber or Lyft to the area because parking might be hard due to a bike rice on Saturday and it’s a safe option if you plan to drink.
