Shelby County Sheriff’s Office searching for suspect after bank robbery

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of a bank robbery in the Meadowbrook area, according to a release from the organization.

The suspect fled the scene and is now believed to be on foot in the Brookhill Circle area of Horizon Condominiums, according to the release. The suspect is believed to be a man with long wavy hair wearing a black long-sleeve shirt. 

Hoover Police responded to a robbery at BB&T Bank at the 4700 block of Meadow Brook Road at 3:42 p.m., according to a release. The suspect walked into the bank wearing a black baseball hat and a dark bandana and demanded money before jumping the counter and removing currency from the teller drawer, according to police.

The suspect fled the area in a black Lincoln town car, and a responding officer encountered the vehicle traveling south, where it was disabled after a short pursuit. Two men were reportedly seen running from the vehicle into the Brook Hill Circle area, according to the release. 

Anyone that sees someone matching their description is asked to call 911 immediately.
