BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — We are learning more about the two victims in Tuesday’s deadly car crash in Birmingham.

It happened off Shades Crest Road and West Oxmoor Road. According to the Jefferson County Coroner, A.H. Parker high school students 17-year old Yefry Hernandez-Paz and 15-year old Griselda Zayas-Flores, both of Birmingham, were killed in that crash.

A.H. Parker high school had grief counselors on hand this week to assist those who were troubled.
Isiah Ramsey, a student at A.H. Parker high, said, “It affected me a little. It’s sad to know what his family is going through and it’s kind of heartbreaking,”

Authorities say the SUV plunged 150 yards down a cliff. Birmingham’s transportation department will review the investigation and do an analysis of the road where it happened.
