Red Cross in urgent need of blood donations

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – There is an urgent need for all blood types and the American Red Cross is asking everyone who can help, to get out and make a donation. Donors are urged to give to ensure blood is available for patients facing trauma and other life-threatening situations.

All Day Wednesday, July 17, Grandview Medical Center and the American Red Cross are hosting a blood drive.

It is going on from 7:30 am – 5:30 pm, in the hospital’s conference center located off the first-floor lobby.

This blood drive is open to the public.

All donors will receive their choice of a movie ticket or Grandview Cafe meal card. Donors will also be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a $50 Jim & Nick’s gift card or a $25 Top Golf gift card.

Appointments are encouraged but walk-ins are accepted.

Also, be sure to bring a photo ID or American Red Cross donor card with you. Free parking in the hospital parking deck will be available.

Donors can bring their parking ticket with them for validation.

Grandview Medical Center is located on Highway 280 at 3690 Grandview Parkway, just east of The Summit on Highway 280.
