LINCOLN, Ala. (WIAT) — The Alabama Department of Public Health is investigating a case of pulmonary tuberculosis identified in a contractor at the Honda Manufacturing plant in Lincoln.
“We are working very closely with Honda to develop and implement a screening plan. As with any identified case of tuberculosis in Alabama, ADPH will implement precautionary testing, investigation and control measures,” Dr. Burnestine Taylor of the Disease Control and Prevention said.
According to a press release, officials were made aware of the tuberculosis June 10 and have notified other employees who may have had extended contact with the contractor.
ADPH and Honda are screening remaining employees for the disease beginning June 18.
