Police: Alcohol, phone use not factors in crash that killed Brambletts

AUBURN, Ala. (WIAT) — Neither alcohol nor distracted phone use was a factor in the crash, a preliminary Auburn Police investigation revealed.

Rod Bramblett, known as “The Voice of the Auburn Tigers”, and his wife Paula died following a car accident Saturday night, The Lee County Coroner’s Office confirmed.

Rod Bramblett had been the lead broadcaster for the Tigers since 2003.

The 16-year-old male driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee was transported to EAMC by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
