One dead after two-vehicle crash in Shelby County

CALERA, Ala. (WIAT) — Shelby County authorities are investigating after one person was killed in a two-vehicle wreck Sunday.

According to Calera Police Chief Sean Lemley, the crash occurred after 5 p.m. on Highway 25 near County Road 86.

Lemley told CBS 42 that the crash is under investigation by the Shelby County Traffic Homicide Investigation (THI) Unit. Two others were injured and transported to area hospitals, Lemley said.

The road has been reopened. Investigators are withholding the victim’s name pending family notification.
