BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A Birmingham teacher who helps her students prepare for the future is now preparing to spend $1,000 on them.
Ms. Ke’Eta Porterfield is a career prep teacher at Huffman Middle School. She says she loves helping to prepare her students for entering the workforce.
“Just trying to get them ready for work and making money, and making good decisions,” Ms. Porterfield said.
With the help of CBS 42 One Class at a Time grant and eCredit Union, we surprised her with a $1,000 check. Ms. Porterfield wants to use the money to take her students on field trips to universities and businesses.
