ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — A missing Etowah County man has been found dead in a ravine where his vehicle crashed several days earlier.
The Etowah County coroner confirms that 26-year-old Nicholas Alexander Messier was killed when his car crashed off a 14-foot drop off in Gadsden on US 278 at the 124 mile marker and overturned, landing upside down.
Alabama State Troopers say Messier was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.
He had been missing since Friday, Oct. 20 2017; his body and the wreckage were discovered Tuesday, Oct. 24.
