Birmingham, Ala.- Dealing with the loss of a loved one can be hard on a family or an individual. It is a topic that touches almost everyone at one time or another. Now, there’s help for those who are dealing with the loss.
Griefshare is a nationally recognized program. It has been around for more than 20 years and is considered the most successfully and widely used programs available today. It is the product of the Church Initiative based in Wake Forest, North Carolina.
Griefshare is a 14-week grief recovery program for anyone who has suffered the loss of a close family member. It provides participants with a caring group of people who will walk alongside them. Trained facilitators, who have experienced grief themselves, will guide participants and provide them with the tools and resources to move forward and adjust to what we call a “new normal.”
You can learn more about the program when it begins here in Birmingham on Thursday, September 5. It will take place at Faith Presbyterian Church on Valleydale Road near Caldwell Mill Road. If you are interested, call 205-991-5430 or visit www.griefshare.org.
