BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Heart disease is a major killer of all Americans, especially women. The American Heart Association wants to raise awareness about the Go Red for Women movement during the Go Red for Women Luncheon.
It will be held on Thursday, May 16 at Sheraton Birmingham, The Red-Hot Reception begins at 10:30 a.m., and the luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. This year’s event will feature live music, a “Rethink Your Drink” bar, hands-only CPR Demonstrations, interactive wellness exhibits and red-carpet photos.
A new addition this year is the “Mirror, Mirror” Stroke Rehab Demo. It is sponsored by Encompass Health. This demonstration will use everyday objects to simulate the symptoms of a stroke and will teach those who attend how to recognize the warning signs. Encompass Health is a major sponsor of this year’s event.
