Man struck, killed by train in Trussville identified

TRUSSVILLE, Ala. (WIAT) — An investigation is underway after a man was struck and killed by a train Sunday afternoon.

According to Lt. Clint Riner with Trussville Police Department, the incident happened on City Hall Drive near the Wastewater Treatment Plant, at the entrance of the police department.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office later identified the victim as 62-year-old Donald D. Reed.

Trussville Police continue to investigate the incident.
