Man hospitalized at UAB after Wednesday morning Cordova shooting

A shooting victim is in critical condition at UAB Hospital after a shooting in Cordova on Wednesday morning, according to Chief Nick Smith with Cordova Police. 

The department responded to a 911 call on Annex Street at 5:52 a.m. to find a 27-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds in his residence. Three other people were at the residence at the time of the shooting, but because of conflicting reports, the investigation is ongoing according to Smith. 

The victim was flown to UAB in critical condition with wounds from a .22-caliber handgun.

At this time, no charges have been filed in the shooting and authorities are unsure what caused the shooting. CBS 42 News will bring you more information as it becomes available.
