BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Several events are scheduled for Saturday in and around the Magic City. 

Alabama Coffee Fest will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Cahaba Brewery. The Alabama Multicultural Organization presents the event, which features specialty coffee roasters and shops with unique coffee beans and live entertainment. 

Cullman Regional EMS will host its 4th annual 911 Chili Cook Off with all proceeds benefiting the Link of Cullman County. Tasting is open to the public for a $1 donation per sample. The event starts at 11 a.m. at Desperation Church. 

The End Heroin Bham Walk starts at 11 a.m. at Railroad Park. This year marks the third year for the event which aims to bring awareness to addiction and celebrate people who are recovering from addiction. 

“There’s such a stigma that surrounds this disease and we need to get out from underneath and show people there is hope and recovery and hopefully we can get that prevention aspect out there and also give people hope,” said Lauren Sisler of the Addiction Prevention Alliance.
