BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A circuit judge moved to dismiss the case in which an Alabama woman was charged for the death of her unborn child.

Saturday, July 6, Judge David Carpenter signed a motion to dismiss the case.

This move comes after Jefferson County District Attorney Lynneice Washington announced no further legal action will be taken against Jones.

In December 2018, Jones, then five months pregnant, allegedly got into an altercation with another woman, Ebony Jemison. Jones was then allegedly shot by Jemison, causing her to have a miscarriage.
