PELHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The first concert of the season will take place at Oak Mountain Amphitheater on April 19.

Jimmy Buffett will open the season at 8 p.m.

Parking and traffic can often be a problem for those trying to attend the concert, or even those trying to pass through the area. Here’s what you need to know:

There is a free parking lot off of Highway 119, between the Raceway Service Station and the Holiday Inn. There is a pedestrian bridge from the site to the venue, to make sure attendees arrive safely. There is also a lot off of Highway 31 on Amphitheater Road between the Pelham Civic Complex and Ice Arena and the Amphitheater. Attendees can get there by way of Valleydale Road, or by way of Highway 31. It’s recommended that concert-goers avoid taking State Park Road to get to their desired parking destination, as it is a heavily congested road.

After work, commuters should take into consideration that there will be heavy delays on Highway 31 and I-65 southbound.
