JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting incident that happened Saturday morning.
Around 8 a.m., Jefferson County Deputies were dispatched to investigate a shooting incident that occurred in the 6600 block of Aaron Aronov Drive Fairfield, Ala.
Deputies responded and were able to determine that a shot had been fired but no one was struck by gunfire. Investigators found that there had been a dispute between men riding in the same car together. At one point the driver pulled the car off the roadway exited the car and fired a shot at a man sitting in the back seat, according to officials. The man was injured by the broken glass but not by the bullet.
The man then fled from the car and ran to a nearby business, the sheriff’s office reports. The shooting victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor wounds.
Investigators are reviewing witness reports and available video. This case is still under investigation.
