ALABASTER, Ala. (WIAT) — The community is rallying around one of their own–an Alabaster Fire Department building and fire inspector and his family lost everything in a fire this weekend.

Billy and Cindy Gibbs were staying at a family member’s house with their three sons after their Montevallo house flooded back in June. Sunday, the house they were staying in went up in flames.

The family escaped unharmed, but everything they owned was destroyed in the fire–including their two vehicles.

Their sons start school next week. You can donate financial assistance to a GoFundMe set up for the family, or visit the Alabaster Community Give Backers Facebook page for information on how to donate clothes and other items.
