Class 6A Boys

Fort Payne 2, Homewood 0

Fort Payne scored twice in the second period and the Wildcats’ defense did the rest in a 2-0 AHSAA Class 6A boys’ semifinal victory over defending state champion Homewood Friday at John Hunt Soccer Complex.

Class 6A Girls

Homewood 8, Decatur 0

Homewood downed Decatur 8-0 and Chelsea beat St. Paul’s Episcopal 8-0 Friday morning at John Hunt Soccer Complex in the semifinals of the 29th AHSAA Class 6A Girls’ Soccer Championships. The two schools advance to Saturday’s finals at 10 a.m.

Class 7A Girls

Vestavia Hills 5, James Clemens 1
Defending Class 7A girls’ state soccer champion Vestavia Hills broke open a 1-1 tie with James Clemens in the 29th AHSAA State Soccer Championships Class 7A girls’ semifinals Friday with three goals in the span of four minutes and closed with a 5-1 victory. The Lady Rebels (21-0-0) advanced to the Class 7A state finals to face McGill-Toolen Catholic (19-5-4), a 2-0 winner over Auburn in the other girls’ semifinal, Saturday at noon.
