Heavy police presence formed in Fairfield over stolen car investigation

FAIRFIELD, Ala. (WIAT) — A heavy police presence formed in a Fairfield neighborhood Wednesday evening.

According to the Birmingham Police Department, a woman reported her car had been stolen and she tracked it to the 300 block of 57th Street. Once officers arrived, they discovered five stolen vehicles, including the woman’s at the location.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said that they are doing a recovery on one of the vehicles. BPD is recovering the other four, which were stolen in Birmingham.
