Gov. Kay Ivey orders flags to be lowered to half-staff to honor weekend shooting victims

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Sunday, Alabama Governor Kay Ivey ordered flags to be lowered to honor the victims of El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio.

The release states:

“At the request of President Trump, I am directing flags be flown at half-staff to honor the victims of the El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, tragedies

Let us remember the lives lost in these senseless acts of violence. Alabama stands with our friends of Texas and Ohio.”

The flags will remain lowered until the end of Thursday.
