Governor Ivey to Participate in ‘HEAL Day’, promoting healthy eating and active living

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WIAT) – Governor Kay Ivey on Wednesday will read an excerpt from Christy Swaid’s new book, “The Ultimate Treasure Hunt” at HEAL Day.

HEAL stands for Healthy Eating Active Living. HEAL Day is dedicated to education, a celebration of health, academic achievement and literacy in the state of Alabama.

The Alabama State University’s Mighty Marching Hornets Band, along with HEAL Alabama Founder Christy Swaid with HEAL Student Champions and others will be in attendance.

CBS 42 Evening News Anchor Sherri Jackson will emcee the event.

The program will take place at 11:00 a.m. on the South Lawn near Circle of Flags at the Alabama State Capitol.
