BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Children are getting down and dirty over the summer while still learning about science thanks to “Gross Out Camp.”
The camp provides learning opportunities in nature and other hands-on activities at various different camps throughout the summer.
The camps are made possible by Fresh Air Family, a non-profit founded in 2006 to give students more access to outdoor activities.
“I just really love kids, I really love educating. I love working with kids and I like getting them off the couch and outside doing something that hopefully will stick with them for the rest of their lives,” Annie Brown, an animal expert at the camp, said.
