FedEx driver attacked while delivering packages in Calhoun County

PIEDMONT, Ala. (WIAT) — The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an attack of a FedEx delivery driver in Piedmont Wednesday morning.

According to a Facebook post, the FedEx driver was approached by a man who asked him for money. Before the driver could answer, the man tried to stab the driver with a screwdriver in the face and abdomen.

The driver was able to protect himself with his arms and the man fled into the forest on Rabbittown Road. The driver was transported to the emergency room with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver described the man as a white male between the ages of 30 and 40, with dirty blonde hair, facial hair, no shirt, cut off shorts and a tattoo on his chest.
