PLEASANT GROVE, Ala. (WIAT) — 35-year-old Andrew Hill — a father of 4 — was killed late Tuesday night in a house fire.
We’re told he went back into the house for something — and never made it out. His 12 and 14-year-old daughters were able to escape. They were not hurt.
It happened late Tuesday night on 12th Court in the Highland Forest community.
“When the firemen got there, they found two young girls out in the yard, and the house of course was on fire, and they said ‘my daddy’s still inside,’ and they told the firemen where he was,” recalled Robert Knight, the Pleasant Grove Director of Public Safety.
According to the two girls, the family was asleep when the fire started.
