HOOVER, Ala (WIAT) – Alabama football fans from all over came to the Hyatt Regency Wnyfrey Hotel in Hoover Wednesday morning for a chance to meet their favorite coach and players.
Head Coach, Nick Saban, and quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa were greeted by screaming fans Wednesday morning as they entered the Wynfrey Hotel in Hoover. Annie Lowe drove from Athens, Georgia.
“It was crazy. Absolute pandemonium. Everybody was screaming. Everybody was running in different directions,” said Lowe.
Not everyone was lucky enough to get a picture or autograph with the team, but Elizabeth Watkins from Hoover is one of the lucky ones receiving an autograph from Tagovailoa.
“Well I had a baby strapped to me and I think they saw and had mercy maybe,” said Watkins. “The girls were so excited and it was just really fun to watch. The guys just said hey and everything and took the time. And they were really nice about that.”
Watkins says the autograph is very special for her family.
“Born and raised Bama fan. My husband and I met at Alabama and would go on road games for dates. Our first date was an A-Day game and he proposed on the 50-yard line so we’re a little bit Bama fans. We’ve gone to national championships. We love it,” said Watkins.
The Arkansas Razorbacks, Mississippi State Bulldogs, and Soth Carolina Gamecocks also attended SEC Media Days Wednesday.
SEC Media Days wraps up Thursday with the Vanderbilt Commodores, Kentucky Wildcats, and the Auburn Tigers.
Auburn Football Head Coach, Guz Malzahn, defensive tackle Derrick Brown, defensive end, Marlon Davidson, and offensive lineman, Prince Tega Wanogho will represent the team.
