BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The family of a man who’s been missing since mid-February is pleading for answers.

Barney O’Neal MaHaffey Jr., 48 of Birmingham was last seen at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 19.

MaHaffey’s wife tells CBS 42, MaHaffey is diagnosed with schizophrenic delusions and bipolar disorder and could be disoriented or confused.

One thing I’ve learned over the years is that my voice does cut through the voices in his head, Barney if you hear this please call me, come home, said Deanna MaHaffey, Barney’s wife.

MaHaffey’s family wants him to know he’s loved and that they won’t stop searching for him.

In Alabama, we have a lot of people who need help but not a lot of resources for it, but Barney’s one of these people who’s loved, he’s not forgotten, said MaHaffey

MaHaffey’s family says he could be as far north as Cullman

We just want him home we want him safe we want to know he’s not hungry, he’s not cold we just want him home, said Mahaffey

He’s described as 6’3, having blue eyes, a full beard going white in the goatee area and could be wearing a leather jacket and black tennis shoes trimmed in red.
