Family of missing Hoover teen speaking out

HOOVER, Ala. (WIAT) — 18-year old Ajah Blackledge’s family is hoping she returns safely after being seen for the last time on Monday.

Blackledge attends Lawson State Community College and lives with her mother Kimberly in Hoover. 

“She is very caring, beautiful smile we are ready to see her again bring her home,” said her aunt Kimberly Blackledge.

The family last talked to her Monday morning and haven’t had contact since. Police said she was last seen along Highway 31 driving a 2008 gold Ford Fusion with the tag number 1BK1358.

“We have her plate information her information entered in NCI database so that if any law enforcement come in contact we will get an alert and get and know it,” said Lt. Keith Czeskleba with Hoover Police.

Police tell CBS 42 foul play in not suspected, but this is unusual behavior for Blackledge.

“We are ready to bring her home,” Kimberly said. “Ajah, if you hear me, if any of Ajah’s friends hear me, please share the message get the message out, please come home.”
