Driver, passenger escape just in time before Amtrak Train collision in East Alabama

CLEBURNE COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) – The driver and a passenger of a car escape just in time before an Amtrak train hit a car in Cleburne County.

It happened near Edwardsville this morning around 10:30 a.m. After the crash, the car was upside-down near the train tracks at U.S. 78.

All 72 passengers, as well as the crew members on the train at the time of the crash, did not suffer injuries. The train resumed service just before noon today.
