BESSEMER, Ala. (WIAT) — Alabama Department of Corrections Law Enforcement Division is investigating a security incident that took place at Donaldson Correctional Facility Sunday.
According to ADOC, inmate Derrol Shaw, 35, was arrested and charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband, certain persons forbidden to possess and terroristic threat. Shaw was treated at the health care unit for minor injuries.
He is serving a sentence of life without parole for murder and first-degree robbery charges out of Jefferson County.
ADOC’s Law Enforcement Services Division will continue to investigate.
