BIBB COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — State investigators are trying to determine if a Brent woman’s death was intentional or accidental. 19-year-old Shania Moore’s body was found at her home around midnight Monday at her house in Bibb County.
Nikita Nord is the victim’s cousin, she and many relatives are devastated by the death of the 19-year-old.
“It really hurts to lose someone you were really close too and it’s going to stick with me because I was the one who went inside the house and saw her laid out like that. And its really going to hurt,” Nord said.
Brent police were called to the home around midnight located in a mobile home park on South Scottsville road. Shania Moore suffered one fatal gunshot wound to her upper body. Brent police handed the case over to ALEA who are calling this a shooting investigation.
While police try to figure out all the details of what happened, Nikita Nord says she and her family are going to keep 19-year-old Shania Moore’s memory in their hearts.
“Shania was a really great cousin and she was always fun to be around even when a serious moment happened she could never be serious. it was never a dull moment with her. She was always sweet, silly and sweet and fun to be around.”
Neither ALEA or Brent Police wanted to talk on camera to comment. No arrests have been made, but police did interview several people.
