BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — This week, the Birmingham Zoo is celebrating Spring Break. It all wraps up this weekend with an Easter celebration all of Birmingham is invited to.
Visitors to the Zoo can soak up the sun and pay a visit to their favorite animals. New this spring break is Parker, the new red panda and Mischa, the new Pallas’s cat. You can also check out the Red Diamond Sea Lion Show, daily goat walk, feed the lorikeets, ride on the Full Moon Bar-B-Que Wild Slide, and enjoy wildlife shows.
Some additions are also back in time for the warm weather. That Includes Predator Zone, Junior League of Birmingham–Hugh Kaul Children’s Zoo Splash Pads, camel rides and much more.
This Saturday, it’s an Easter celebration you won’t want to miss! Birmingham’s largest Easter egg hunt–Eggstravaganza–kicks off at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 31st. The Easter Bunny and all his friends will be out, rain or shine. The children’s egg hunts are free for Zoo members and included in admission for non-members. The adult egg hunt is $25.
Children can collect 10 eggs and receive a pair of bunny ears. For the adult egg hunt, participants select one egg with a number that can be redeemed for a prize, such as tickets to a race at Talladega Superspeedway, restaurant gift cards, massage packages, and more!
Babies to children 12 years old can hunt for eggs from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Henley Park. The adult egg hunt will be at Gigi’s Back Porch. Before the Eggstravaganza begins, your family can enjoy Breakfast with the Bunny. You’ll be treated to scrambled eggs, sausage, orange juice, and coffee at the Zoo’s new restaurant, Nourish 205. All children receive a special treat when they arrive and can enjoy crafts while eating breakfast.
Tickets are $30 for adults and $25 for kids if you’re a non-member and $25 for adults and $20 for kids for Zoo members. The event price covers Zoo admission for the day, an unlimited ride wristband, breakfast and a visit with the Easter Bunny. Tickets are still available for the 7:30 a.m. breakfast here.
