Birmingham police help woman mowing lawn out in the heat

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — It was a simple Facebook post that has since taken off–showing how some local police officers went out of their way to help someone in need.

Birmingham Police officer Erik Henderson posted a photo about how he and a group of fellow officers came to the rescue of an elderly Birmingham woman. They came across the woman trying to mow her lawn Sunday morning in the hot sun, and gave her a helping hand.

Henderson explained it wasn’t anything out of the ordinary for Birmingham police officers. He said they love all communities, and they are just trying to help bridge the gap between officers and members of the community.
