Birmingham PD: 3 people wounded in Ensley shooting

ENSLEY, Ala. (WIAT) — Update (9/10): West Precinct Captain Scott Thurmond tells CBS 42 they are working to investigate if 2 gunshot wound victims that drove themselves to Princeton are affiliated with the shooting that took place in Ensley Tuesday afternoon. “There were some other individuals showed up at the hospital, shot. We’re not sure if those two incidents are related. That’s something we’re looking into at this point,” said Thurmond.

One victim was transported from the scene to UAB to be treated. Thurmond tells us his team is following up on several strong leads. Although there is no suspect in custody, he said there is no safety concern for the Belview Height neighborhood.

The Birmingham Police Department is investigating a shooting in Ensley Tuesday afternoon.

The incident occurred at 3900 Court K around 4:30 p.m. All three victims were taken to hospitals in private vehicles.

No suspects are currently in custody.
