BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Birmingham Police now say a homicide that took place on May 1 in Ensley has been ruled justifiable.

Officers from the West Precinct responded to 1705 52nd Street in Ensley shortly after 7 p.m. and located 31-year-old Terry Wayne Bonner Jr. suffering from a gunshot wound. 

Bonner was taken to UAB Hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.

Birmingham Police interviewed two subjects following the shooting death. The information they gathered from the interviews was taken to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s office for review. 

The attorney’s office ruled the shooting was justifiable and no charges will be filed.
