Birmingham City Council voted to approve a bill that would allow alcohol sales before 10 a.m. on Sundays.

State legislators passed a ‘Brunch Bill” in the last legislative session giving city and county governments the ability to establish a referendum to change the time of alcohol sales on Sundays.

Birmingham city councilors unanimously voted to pass the bill, which could go into effect as early as this weekend.
