Firefighters from multiple fire departments battled flames of a large commercial fire that destroyed two businesses early Tuesday morning.
The call of the fire came in at approximately 3:45 a.m., according to Josh Parker with Thorsby Fire. When crews arrived, they found a heavy amount of fire and smoke showing from two one-story buildings.
Thorsby Fire tells CBS 42 the fire started in an auto repair shop and spread to a car dealership next door. Both buildings are a total loss.
Collins Chapel Fire, Jemison Fire, and Clanton Fire were all called in to assist with the fire.
No one was injured in the fire. The cause is still under investigation.
Crews had to close Highway 31 near the fire, which remains closed at this time.
