AUBURN, Ala. (WIAT) — Auburn police have charged the teen who was involved in the car crash that killed Auburn University broadcaster Rod Bramblett and his wife Paula in May.

Johnston Edward Taylor, 16, was charged with two counts of manslaughter Monday.

Taylor previously said he fell asleep while at the wheel when the crash occurred and does not remember anything leading up to it.

Auburn police also released a statement that included a Toxicological report saying that marijuana was present in Taylor’s system at the time of the crash.

Taylor was charged as an adult and is currently in custody at the Lee County Jail where he is being held on a $50,000 bond.
