Auburn high school teacher charged with engaging in sex act with student

LEE COUNTY, AL (WRBL) - Lee County Sheriff’s Office and Dothan Police Department have arrested an Auburn male teacher for allegedly engaging in sex with a female student on Monday.

Beauregard High School teacher Hunter Herring Armstrong, 24, was arrested on outstanding charges of a school employee engaging in a sex act or deviant sexual intercourse with a student under the age of 19-years-old.

He was also charged with three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and one count of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Lee County Sheriff Office says they received a complaint from a parent reporting that she discovered disturbing communications of a sexual nature on her 15-year-old daughter’s cell phone on June 16.

Deputies say, according to the parent, her daughter was possibly involved in an inappropriate relationship with one of her teachers at Beauregard High School. The Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into the allegation which led to the discovery of evidence leading to the charges.

This crime is a Class B felony. Armstrong is currently being held in the Lee County Detention Facility on a $24,000 bond.

This case remains under investigation and anyone with information regarding this is asked to contact the Lee County Sheriff's Office.
