LINCOLN, Ala. (WIAT) — UPDATE (11:40 a.m.): The following was released from Lincoln Police Department:
The defendant, 28-year-old Jessica Lynn Jordan, from Talladega, Alabama. She has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving a death, Alabama Title 32-10-1, which is a felony in the state of Alabama. The defendant’s bond has not been set at the time of this release.
Lincoln police give their thanks to ALEA, Talladega Police, Pell City Police, Lincoln Fire and Rescue and the East Metro Crime Center along with the public who assisted in the case, helping it to reach a conclusion.
In the release, The Lincoln Police Department state they will not release further details at this time.
Recap: The hit-and-run fatality occurred on Alabama Highway 77 near the intersection of Speedway Boulevard. With the help of tips and public cooperation, Lincoln Police were able to make an arrest in the case today. For more information on the incident, see the related headline.

Original Story: A suspect has been arrested in the fatal hit-and-run that occurred last week.
According to Lincoln Police, a person has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving death. It is a felony, according to Lincoln Investigator Amanda Crow.
Crow said a news release with the suspect’s name will be sent out later in the day.
The investigation began after 41-year-old Donald Carroll was killed June 12 along Alabama 77.
