Alabaster man charged with attempted murder of police officer in officer-involved shooting incident

ALABASTER, Ala. (WIAT) — An Alabaster man is facing an attempted murder charge, accused of trying to run over an Alabaster police officer.

The Shelby County District Attorney’s Office says the incident is one and the same with the Alabaster officer-involved shooting that happened on Wednesday, June 20. 

According to the warrant, 25-year-old Issai Serrano of Alabaster is charged with attempted murder after allegedly driving a car towards an Alabaster police officer during the incident on Wednesday. 

Hoover Police took four subjects into custody on Wednesday afternoon after identifying a vehicle matching a BOLO out of Shelby County connected with the incident at the intersection of South Shades Crest and Morgan Road. 

According to the warrant, Serrano was officially arrested on Thursday, June 21. His bond is set at $20,000 for that charge, but according to jail records, he is being held without bond for probation violation.
